My Summer Vacation Diary
Last summer vacation was one of the most memorable periods in my life. As a high school freshman, I wanted to make full use of this precious time to enrich myself both physically and mentally. Below is my diary recording those wonderful days.
July 15: A Trip to the Countryside
Today my parents took me to visit my grandparents in the countryside. The fresh air and green fields were completely different from the city. I helped grandma feed chickens and learned how to pick vegetables from their garden. In the evening, we sat in the yard counting stars while listening to grandpa's stories about his childhood. This simple yet meaningful day taught me to appreciate the beauty of nature.
July 22: Volunteering at the Library
I spent a week volunteering at our local library. My job was to organize books and help children find interesting readings. Seeing their happy faces when discovering new stories warmed my heart. Through this experience, I not only improved my communication skills but also developed a deeper love for reading. The librarian praised me for being responsible, which made me feel proud.
August 5: Learning to Swim
Determined to conquer my fear of water, I signed up for swimming lessons. The first few days were terrifying as I struggled to float. But with my coach's patience and encouragement, I gradually gained confidence. Today, I finally managed to swim across the pool! This experience taught me that perseverance can overcome any difficulty.
August 20: Preparing for the New Semester
With the vacation coming to an end, I started reviewing my textbooks and making study plans for the coming semester. I realized that proper preparation is crucial for success. I also wrote down my goals for the new term, including improving my English writing skills and joining the school basketball team.
Conclusion
This summer vacation was truly rewarding. I experienced new things, gained valuable skills, and most importantly, grew as a person. These precious memories will always remind me that every day is an opportunity to learn and improve. I'm now looking forward to applying what I've learned to my high school life.
